This project requires students to design and develop a learning experience using the learning design process and learning principles studied during the program.
For my capstone project I collaborated with Amanda Fencl, a PhD candidate in Geography at UC Davis who is currently conducting a study on water system extreme event and drought preparedness. Through her research, Fencl discovered several learning gaps related to the state of the drought and water sources in California.
I designed and developed a learning page to address these gaps. The target learners for this project are California residents who have access to clean drinking water and make water usage decisions in their households. The page consists of a video overview of the drought in California, an interactive elearning module detailing Los Angeles water sources, and a discussion forum.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
The final requirement for the M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology (LDT) program at the University of Southern California (USC) is to complete a Capstone project.
